We saw Robyn, a 17 year old girl, at the Krist Samaritan Irlen Clinic, Houston/Galveston. Whenever she works or reads under fluorescent lights she ALWAYS gets a headache. She also gets other physical symptoms such as a stomach ache and feeling dizzy. When reading her eyes feel strained and burn and when she looks up everything is blurry.
Can Irlen Syndrome cause headaches? YES. Do people suffering for years with headaches go to their Irlen practitioner first? NO – not usually! They go to their eye doctor or other medical specialist, though as Irlen syndrome is to do with how the brain processes light it can only be diagnosed and treated by an Irlen specialist.
This lack of awareness surrounding visual processing issues is why Robyn has agreed to post a VIDEO where she describes differences when looking at text/numbers using her prescribed overlay. Robyn’s family had been looking for a solution for years, and although a Nutritionist had eased things slightly, as Robyn explains in the VIDEO she has never experienced instant relief like that experienced with her particular color of overlay.
