Irlen Syndrome often results in SENSITIVITY to particular colors
Are you SENSITIVE TO COLOR? Do you feel CALM looking at a particular one? Do you HATE some bright, FLUORSECENT colors? Do some colors HURT your eyes? Do you argue about particular SHADES of color as to what they are? Do some PASTEL colors look washed out/white? If your answer is ‘YES’ to any of these questions you may have IRLEN SYNDROME. This is a visual processing difficulty, so nothing to do with whether you need prescription glasses or not.
Bill Cody is 10 years old and a Cowboy! He visited the Krist Samaritan Irlen Clinic (Houston/Galveston) on the way to the Houston and Dallas Rodeos where he ropes calves and judges animals.
Bill Cody has Irlen Syndrome and as well as the typical Irlen struggles with READING and LIGHT SENSITIVITY he explained for the first time that he HATES BRIGHT YELLOW as it ‘takes over’. This symptom disappeared with the specific color of tint to be worn as Irlen glasses as it filters out offending parts of the light spectrum.
In the VIDEO Bill Cody explains how yellow usually appears to him and the difference when wearing the Irlen color. His mom also marvels at the Diagnostic process and how much she learnt in our session about how her son sees the world, including ‘dust’ particles in the air when looking from a bright light source to a darker area (also soothed with the Irlen color).
