Irlen Clinic Director meets parents, students and teachers to inform them how colored overlays and colored lenses worn as glasses can help those with Autism.
On the 15th April 2017 the Irlen Clinic Director from the Krist Center manned a stand at Houston-Clear Lake Autism Resource Fair and was pleased to talk with parents, students and teachers and inform them of the Center’s new location and the range of services offered there.
The Clinic Director had colored overlays on hand to demonstrate how they could help with black and white contrast when reading. She also showed the range of colored lenses that could be combined to form an individual’s optimum color to help with visual distortions, light sensitivity, headaches and some typical autistic behavior such as difficulty maintaining eye contact.
The session was very valuable as it allowed the Center to support those that are impacted by autism and developmental disabilities. Over the next few weeks we hope to hear from them and welcome them to the Center!
