Message to children who aren't confident wearing their Irlen colored glasses
This is IRLEN AWARENESS WEEK and here is an inspiring message from 19 year old Tabitha who recently returned to the Krist Samaritan Irlen Clinic (Houston/Galveston) with her mom. She was proudly wearing her Irlen, colored glasses which have a precise individualized tint to help her with: distortions when reading, depth perception issues and light sensitivity.
Since getting her glasses she had been accepted at A&M University and is doing an English Major, something she would not have been able to do without her glasses! She wants to become a teacher like her mom and help identify Irlen kids that are struggling in the classroom.
I asked Tabitha: what message she would give kids who were not confident in wearing their Irlen glasses? Whether she had ever needed to explain why she wore hers? Had she had the opportunity of encouraging a child with Irlen Syndrome? Her answers are inspiring and a wonderful message for Irlen Awareness Week, so watch the VIDEO and enjoy!
