Irlen Filters (colored glasses) reduce LIGHT SENSITIVITY and increase CLARITY

An 8 year boy came back to the Krist Samaritan Irlen Clinic (Houston/Galveston) for Irlen Filters as the family had seen such improvement with his reading when using the prescribed overlays (clear, colored, plastic sheets put over text).
Irlen Syndrome is a visual processing disorder in which specific parts of the light spectrum interfere with correct processing of light. Overlays and Irlen colored glasses work by stopping parts of the light spectrum entering the brain.
During the Filter Diagnostic session, to find the specific, individualized color for this 8 year old boy, the family experienced two ‘wow’ moments concerned with LIGHT SENSITIVITY and CLARITY.
The first was experienced by the boy’s mom when her son was able to look outside through my large, office window without squinting or the light making his eyes sore or his head hurt. To others this may sound strange, but imagine always having to position yourself away from light to avoid pain. Unfortunately, in a bright classroom this is often impossible.
The second ‘wow’ moment was the boy realizing that he could now see fine detail for the first time (usually everything is blurry). This improvement occurred with JUST the color in front of his eyes as he does not need a prescription. In the VIDEO he explains the fine detail he noticed when looking at a word search, sheet music and my reading chart …..he has eyes like ‘Superman’ now!
