Does it take you forever? Lose your place? Letters seem to move or fade? The white is so bright it hurts your eyes or gives you a headache? You may have IRLEN SYNDROME which is a visual processing disorder that makes you particularly sensitive to black text on a white page.
Meet Weston who’s 7 years old and came to the Krist Samaritan Irlen Clinic (Houston/Galveston) for special colored Irlen glasses. For him text moves around and spins, so it’s no wonder he gets dizzy and ends up with a stomachache, sore eyes and head.
However, he also explains in the VIDEO why he has such problems copying from the whiteboard - text actually ‘disappears’. The video shows how we made it ‘come back’. No wonder he had a problem with a conventional eye test! Please note his Irlen glasses do not need ANY Rx/prescription – just color!
